Xbox

So on the 31st of July, my xbox 360 flashed that oh-so-famous 3 red rings. It's happened before, I didn't care, because it still worked. But THIS time, it failed for good. (Is that what I get for buying american? Does Honda make a console?)

So I did what any responsible american would do: I pissed and moaned until they took it back.

It was a long and, if I can say this, arduous, road; here's the story.

So the day after it failed, I called Microsoft's Headquarters (which is in Washington, for anyone who didn't know... why Washington? Because the desert was being used to test nukes) and spoke (the 1st time of many) to a young asian woman. Which... seems kinda backwards, since the last time I called Sony for troubleshooting, I spoke with an 'merican man. Anyways, she robbed 20 minutes from my life, regaling me with stories about nothing and questions such as, "So what are your favorite games?" and "What's the weather like there?"

Anyways, I was told that I would have a shipping label mailed to me, so I could return my console.

2 weeks later...

I still had no shipping label, so I called, and spoke with another lady (also asian, not the same woman... ironically, same questions) who robbed me of another 20 minutes of my life, and informed me that she had to send out another shipping label.

After 4 weeks, I wound up with:
  • 2 shippings labels
  • my xbox
  • a bill that I'm sending to microsoft for that hour that was robbed from my biological clock
If you ask me though, I'd say it was worth it. Video games... are awesome.
